House prices predicted to grow 30% in four years

BNP Paribas Real Estate has predicted that economic growth and a shortage of new homes could see house prices up 30.4% by the end of 2019, reaching an average of £260,000. The report says the southwest will see prices climb by 39.7%, the West Midlands will increase by 34.9%; the southeast by 32.5%; London by 24.8% and the north by 19%. Simon Durkin, head of research, said: "Many of England's regions will see a stronger pace of growth over the next four years, partly due to their low base, but also as the benefits of economic growth extend across the country."
