Cambridge the decades highest climber
Cambridge has topped the list of property hotspots where asking prices have exploded in the last decade, with Rightmove data showing that average asking prices have climbed 75.3% from £264,227 in Q4 2006 to £463,093 in Q4 2016. Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, was next, with values up 71.8% from £386,427 to £663,811, while values in third-placed Whitstable, Kent, rose from £228,786 to £388,986 – a 70% jump. The figures exclude London, where average asking prices have climbed 84.7% in the ten-year period.
