Rent Keep Rising

New figures from the Office for National Statistics have shown that private rents in London are rising up to three times faster than those in the north and the Midlands. In the 12 months to August, the value of rents paid in the capital rose by 1.9%. The ONS figures also show that rental prices grew at a faster pace in Scotland and Wales (1.3%) than England as a whole (1.1%). Across the UK, the North East of England saw the smallest annual rent rise of just 0.1%. While the North West has seen a 0.3% increase. Rents in Yorkshire and the Humber and in the East Midlands rose by 0.6% and the West Midlands 0.5%. The South East and South West saw rises of 1.1% and 0.9% respectively.
